Passport Applications are being accepted by the Newton County Clerk of Superior Court by Appointment ONLY.  Please call 770-784-2035 to reserve your spot.

WE DO NOT ACCEPT CREDIT OR DEBIT CARDS

APPLICATIONS ARE PROCESSED MONDAY-FRIDAY, 8:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.

PASSPORT APPLICATION PROCESS

Passport applications take 6-8 weeks to process.  Applications are available at the Clerk’s Office or online at https://travel.state.gov.

Things you will need:

• Completed application – (Applications are available at the Clerk’s Office or online at https://travel.state.gov)
• One (1) passport photo (CVS, Walgreens, or Walmart)
• A certified copy of birth certificate (must have parents information listed; some states have a shortened version and the US Passport Agency won’t accept that one) or naturalization certificate (if an adult, an expired passport is acceptable)
• Children 15 and under must be present, and both parents must be present to sign application. If both parents are unable to appear, the non-applying parent must complete a DS-3053 consent form along with a copy of their ID front and back.
• Children 16-17 must be present and have at least one parent present to sign application (photo ID for minor)
• Ages 17 and under will need a birth certificate even with an expired passport
• Valid Photo Identification: ex: Georgia Driver’s License or Valid Passport
  • a) Temporary (paper) license and out of state license will require a 2^nd photo ID
  • b) 2^nd photo ID can be an expired license, expired passport, school ID or work ID

Fees for passport book: (land, sea, and air)

• 16 and older – $130.00 passport fee (check or money order made payable to U.S. Department of State)
• 15 and under – $100.00 passport fee (check or money order made payable to U.S. Department of State)
• All ages – $35.00 processing fee (cash)

Fees for passport card: (good for land and sea travel only)

• 16 and older – $30.00 passport fee (check or money order made payable to U.S. Department of State)
• 15 and under – $15.00 passport fee (check or money order made payable to U.S. Department of State)
• All ages – $35.00 processing fee (cash)

EXPEDITED PASSPORT APPLICATION PROCESS

2-3 weeks to process

$60.00 Expedite Fee added to passport fee

Expedite fees for passport book: (land, sea, air)

• 16 and older – $190.00 passport fee (check or money order payable to U.S. Department of State)
• 15 and under – $160.00 passport fee (check or money order payable to U.S. Department of State)
• All ages – $35.00 processing fee (cash)

Expedite fees for passport card: (land and sea)

• 16 and older – $90.00 passport fee (check or money order payable to U.S. Department of State)
• 15 and under – $75.00 passport fee (check or money order payable to U.S. Department of State)
• All ages – $35.00 processing fee (cash)
