Georgia Legal Services Program offers free legal representation in certain civil matters to low income households.
Call (404) 894-7707 or (770) 535-5717 between 9:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. on Monday through Friday or visit www.glsp.org. There is also helpful legal information online at http://www.georgialegalaid.org.
GLSP DOES accept the following kinds of cases:
- Family Violence Temporary Protective Orders and Stalking Orders
- Public Housing and Subsidized Housing issues
- Food Stamp, Medicaid, and TANF issues
- Unemployment Benefit Appeals
- Consumer Cases
- Name Changes (limited basis)
- Birth Certificate Problems (limited basis)
- School Suspensions/Expulsions
GLSP does NOT accept the following kinds of cases:
- Divorce (with limited exceptions)
- Child Support
- Child Custody
- Criminal
- Personal Injury
- Immigration
- Worker’s Comp
- Tax/IRS Issues
- Social Security (except terminations, reductions, or overpayments)

If you do not have a computer at home, you can use one at the public library or the law library located inside the Judge Horace J. Johnson, Jr. Judicial Center and the Walton Government Building.
